WorldCall Golf TournamentIn the first WorldCall Golf Tournament contested at the beautiful but challenging Defence Raya Golf Course,over 18 holes on Sunday,the champion of the tournament turned out to be Sameer Iftikhar of Faisal Bank who played quality golf to win the gross prize with a score of two over par 74.

During the round Sameer excelled with his “one wood driver”driving to perfection on the par fours and fives and though he faced some faint setbacks on four holes due to bogies, his twelve regulation pars and two birdies secured for him a moment of glory and a glorious trophy.The runner up in the gross section was Col (r) Asif Mehdi of Garrison Golf Club with a gross score of 80.In the other events,out of 96 competitors, those who performed well in the members section category are Dr.Dildar Hussain,winner of best gross ,and Maj Gen Tariq Masood,runners up gross.

The high flier in the net category was Maj Ahtisham who certainly inspired and encouraged himself to play more competitive golf and use the excellent course conditions to further hone his skills and start appearing more frequently in future championships.Runner up  net was captured by Adyan Lone.Nearest to the pin winner is Waheed Aslam and longest drive was hit by Hashim Sabir Raja.Mrs.Brig Sajjad Bakshi was first in ladies putting and Mahin Noor in girls putting.The participants lauded the excellent course conditions and Brig Shahid Wahab Rao and Col Saqib Mehmood of DHA commited to keep up the excellence and bring international golf to this arena. At the conclusion of the tournament, the chief guest of the evening, Amir Mahmood, Chief of Commercial of WorldCall awarded prizes to the winners.
