KARACHI: Third edition of National Disable Cricket Championship will be held in Lahore from September 8, Pakistan Disabled Cricket Association said on Friday.Twelve teams from across the country drawn in four groups will be taking part in the championship. Karachi will be defending its title in the competition.Handsome prize money of Rs.200,000 will be at the offer.
The winner will get Rs.100, 000 and runners-up grab Rs.50,000.Group A & Group B matches will begin from September 8 in Lahore while winners of each group will contest in first semifinal on September 11. Winners of Group C & D will clash in the second semifinal on September 30 at Karachi. The date and venue of the final will be decided later.
Besides team prizes, cash prize of Best Player, Best Batsman, Best Bowler and Best Fielder to be given apart from man of the match award in every match.
Javed Ashraf has been nominated as coordinator for the first phase to be held at Lahore. On the basis of performances in the national championship, five provincials teams will be picked for the Pentangular Cricket Cup 2011 which will be held on October 2011.
