Ayesha Ahad accuses Hamza of rigging

LAHORE: Independent Candidate from NA-119 Ayesha Ahad Malik alleged PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz for kidnapping her 12 polling agents, who are missing since election day.

Addressing a press conference, Ayesha claimed massive rigging in NA-119 and demanded re-polling in the constituency. She also demanded Punjab government to provide security due to death threats from PML-N.Ayesha contested general election from NA-119 with the slogan of empowering women’s respect and rights. It is noted that she had been under continuous threats since she claimed to be the wife of Hamza. Previously, she was beaten by PML-N workers at Alhmara while hot water was thrown to her now during her election campaign

She had submitted her complain against rigging to returning officer of NA-119 in which she claimed that more than 200 polling agents were not allowed to enter polling stations, whereas about 50 agents were forced to leave polling station. She also added that 12 of her polling agents were still missing and PML-N would be responsible for their lives. She also alleged PML-N leaders and workers for using abusive language and manhandling with her polling agents.

On the occasion, Ayesha said that wining or losing is part of politics but rigging is unbearable. She rejected the election result and appealed election commission to conduct re-polling in the presence of armed forces. She had also filed applications to Inspector General Punjab and Superintendent Police Security for providing her security as she is facing continuous life threats before and after election. – DailyTimes
