Imran Khan, Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Wednesday filed a petition in election tribunal hearing alleged rigging case in NA-122, seeking action against the local commission for issuing media statements over vote audit.

Imran Khan contended in his petition that Local Commission’s statement on media has created negative impact on the case. He claimed that there were clear evidences of rigging in NA-122 but, he added, they were not made part of the commission’s fact finding report. Local Commission head Ghulam Hussain Awan had said that fake ballots were not found during the vote audit in NA-122.

He said that rigging was not carried out in the constituency and only irregularities were found in NA-122. National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq had stood victorious against Imran Khan in the last general elections from this constituency. Following the elections, Khan had moved election tribunal against the results. -Samaa
