Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has appointed Director General (DG) Administration Usman Ali as acting secretary of ECP today.

According to the details, DG Admin has been designated as acting secretary ECP because the institutional matters suffered a lot due to the vacant post of secretary ECP and government had not responded despite ECP’s second contact with the Establishment Division. The new Secretary hasn’t been named. It is pertinent to mention here that the post of Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan (CECP) is also vacant till date while Supreme Court of Pakistan’s deadline for appointment of new CEC expires on Thursday. -nation
