ISLAMABAD: A three-member Supreme Court bench will take up the federation’s application, seeking postponement of its review petition against the NRO verdict until the time it finds a replacement for its counsel, Barrister Kamal Azfar, who had been elevated to the position of adviser to the prime minister, today (Monday).The bench consists of Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, Justice Ghulam Rabbani and Justice Khalilur Rehman Ramday. Raja Abdul Ghafoor, the government’s advocate-on-record and Barrister Kamal Azfar will appear on notice. The court was scheduled to hear the government’s review petition against the NRO verdict on October 13. In its application submitted on Saturday, the government had simply requested the SC to grant it more time to engage a new counsel to plead its NRO review petition.
At the last hearing on September 27, the court had accepted the government’s request for putting off the hearing on implementation of its judgment on the NRO and fixed the review petition for October 13 – Dailytimes
