NA Speaker lauds work pace on PIPS building

ISLAMABAD, Oct 5 (APP):  Dr. Fehmida Mirza, Speaker National Assembly on Tuesday appriciaed the pace of construction work on the building of Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services (PIPS).The Speaker visited the site of the PIPS building in Sector F-5, Islamabad and inspected the construction work of the Building.The Speaker asked the contractor to ensure the quality of work and material used in the construction of the building.
Earlier, the Speaker also Chaired a meeting of the  Board of Governors in Parliament House, this evening.While discussing the budget of PIPS for the year 2010-2011, the Board of Governors was of the view that due to national financial position,the budget should be rationalized. After thorough discussion and talking into consideration the essential operational expenditure during the year, the Board of Governors decided to bring down the proposed figures from Rs.29 million to Rs.25 million.The Board of Governors also adopted the report of the Review Committee for Recruitment Rules and Condition of Services of employees of PIPS. The Board of Governors directed the Executive Director (PIPS) to initiate recruitment process so that PIPS could be made fully functional.
The Speaker asked the Executive Director to make the recruitment process, transparent and merit be observed.The meeting was attended by Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Senator Dr.Khatu Mal Jeewan, MNAs Aftab Shaban Mirani, Mr. S. A.  Iqbal Quadri,Ch. Muhammad Barjees Tahir, Mr. Kiramat Ullah Khan Chagharmati,Speaker Provincial Assembly Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Execuitve Director(PIPS) and senior officers of the National Assembly Secretariat – App
