KARACHI: Authorities on Wednesday assigned at least five police stations to Sindh Rangers in different districts of the city – a step to empower the paramilitary force to probe the accused in the continuing targeted operation against criminal elements.
Five focal police stations where the cops and Rangers will work jointly have been decided. Those include Ferozabad police station of district East; Nazimabad police station of district Central; Orangi Town police station of district West; Steel Town police station of the district Malir and Aram Bagh police station of district South.
The suspects arrested on different charges during targeted raids would be kept and interrogated at these designated police stations. A senior police officer will be appointed as in charge of each focal police station on the recommendation of Rangers. They would have the authority to move the suspects arrested, and the police will then lodge an FIR, before handing them over to the joint investigation team. – DailyTimes
