Dr Afridi’s sentence declared null and void by Commissioner FCR

Commissioner FCR Thursday declared a 33-year imprisonment sentence awarded to Dr Shakeel Afridi, who helped the CIA in tracing Osama Bin Laden through fake polio vaccination campaign, by the political administration of Khyber Agency null and void.

Commissioner Sahibzada Muhammad Anis handed over the case of Dr Shakeel Afridi to the political agent of Khyber Agency. He said that Dr Afridi could not be released before the orders of the political agent.It should be mentioned that Dr Afridi was accused of running a fake vaccination campaign in which he collected DNA samples, which helped the US intelligence agency to track down Osama Bin Laden in the garrison city of Abbottabad. – TheNation
