LAHORE: The Punjab Assembly’s new session scheduled to continue for two weeks is commencing from Thursday (toady) with Speaker Rana Mohammed Iqbal Khan in the chair.
The session which is the 43rd of the present provincial assembly will discuss a number of issues, including adjournment as well as privilege motions, submitted by both treasury and opposition members.According to the parliamentary sources, the session will continue more than two week as the government has a lot of business including some special bills and other issues to bring in the House of provincial representatives.
It is worth mentioning that the issue of separate provinces in the Punjab like Southern Punjab and Bahawalpur as well as the matter of load shedding, law and order situation across the province, Metro Bus Service (MBS) in Lahore city, financial mismanagement in the MBS, paramedical staffs and other issues would also come under discussion during the session as the opposition parties, PPP and PML-Q have already submitted some resolutions and adjournment motions in the assembly secretariat’s notice branch to highlight these issues in the House
