LAHORE: Under the planned strategy of persuading voters, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan is starting his tour of Punjab today (Monday) and would visit southern Punjab’s city of Sadiqabad.
According to party sources, during the first phase of the campaign, Imran Khan will visit rural areas to meet workers and voters and this phase will end on December 20. They added that Imran would give not only guidelines to party stalwarts for the tough political brawl in the days to come.The modalities of the PTI mass-contact campaign were finalised during the meetings and conventions.
Party sources told Media that Imran Khan would also hold daily meetings with party workers during his tour. They said that a comprehensive strategy had been evolved for the tour of Imran Khan to Lahore and maximum party workers would be given chance to meet their leader.They said that keeping in view other parties’ history, the PTI should prepare itself for all type of situation and keeping in view the public demand, maximum corner meetings would be held and committees would be designed to assign responsibilities, accordingly.
Imran Khan will give guidelines to party workers and office-bearers for the general elections during the tour. The PTI chairman, PTI sources said, wanted to meet “the common man” during his tour.From southern Punjab, PTI leaders will go to Islamabad for an “important meeting” in which the party’s strategy for the elections will be discussed.On December 15, the party leadership will visit Gujranwala and Lahore.
Imran Khan will then go to Sindh on December 20 where he plans to address a public gathering in Sukkur.Sources said the PTI would be using party resources to fund the campaign “unlike other major political parties that are using the public money to fund their campaigns”.On the other hand, for the upcoming intra-party elections of PTI, the Lahore chapter arranged a training workshop for voters where a large number of party workers received information and training about
