Corruption won’t be tolerated, says CJP

Addressing a gathering of lawyers after inaugurating Judicial Complex in Rawalpindi, Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry said that corruption of billions of rupees had been brought into the notice of the Supreme Court.

He said that the Black Coat and the Black Camera have been struggling for the supremacy as well as independence of the judiciary for the last five years.He stressed the need for effective cooperation between bench and bar for administration of justice, and apex court is fully active and addressing the important matters of public interest aimed at providing relief to the people.

He said that the law and order situation in Balochistan is a cause of grave concern and must be improved without delay.The Chief Justice advised the lawyers to work hard to make their career bright and fruitful for the society. He said, “It is a matter of great satisfaction that the legal community is extending cooperation to the judiciary in achieving the noble goal of administration of justice to the needy.”

He said that National Judicial Policy was formulated with a view to providing inexpensive and speedy justice to litigants at their doorsteps and measures were being successfully taken to eradicate corruption from judiciary. – Dunyanews
