KARACHI: Muslims across the world as well as in the metropolis observed Shab-e-Meraj on Sunday night with religious respect and zeal to mark the holy journey of Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) towards the throne of Allah Almighty.
Shab-e-Meraj is observed on 27th of Rajab. Faithful gather at mosques after Isha to offer prayers. Besides this, various ceremonies are held to praise the Holy Prophet (PBUH). Religious clerics and scholars highlight the teachings and various aspects of the life of Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH). Mosques, a large number of houses, streets and roundabouts were decorated with colorful lights and candles in the city.
On the occasion, special arrangements were made at graveyards and a large number of people visited graves of their loved ones. Religious clerics and scholars while addressing congregations urged people to follow the lifestyle and teaching of the last prophet, so as to be successful in both worlds. Special prayers were also offered for the betterment of Muslim Ummah and the country at the mosques. – Dailytimes
