KARACHI: Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Mushtaq Ahmed Shah has directed that concrete security steps be taken for the public places as well as the industrial and commercial areas.

He was chairing a meeting of senior police officers at the CPO here on Wednesday. On the occasion the IGP reviewed the overall performance of the police. He stressed that for curbing crimes, there should be an effective coordination and that in crimes-affected areas extra-ordinary measures be ensured.

Coach-car collision leaves eight injured: A road accident on the Super Highway between a coach and a truck left eight persons injured near here on Wednesday. The injured people, who suffered minor injuries, bruises and fractures, were shifted to Liaquat University Hospital, Jamshoro. They were identified as Mahnaz Pitafi, Ismail Khokhar, Abdul Moiz Mangi, Haji Muhammad Punhal, Majid Arain, Shiraz Rind, Tahir and Shabir. The coach was travelling from Karachi to Hyderabad. – PT
