KARACHI: Maritime Security Agency and Pakistan Customs in a joint operation have foiled a bid to smuggle Iranian diesel in thousands of litres along with two wooden boats.
The smuggled/non-duty paid diesel oil was being smuggled through sea routes. The contraband diesel and boats worth Rs 40 million have been seized and further investigations was in progress. The collectorate has initiated criminal and adjudication proceedings against the culprits by lodging FIRs and issuing show-cause notices under the provisions of customs laws. – Dailytimes
