The leaders of these parties thanked the MQM and its chief for organising such a huge rally on a short notice. In his telephonic address to the rally participants, MQM chief Altaf Hussain said that people of the country would not allow any conspiracy against the democracy to succeed and that they are standing by the side of President Asif Ali Zardari. He said that the people of Sindh have raised themselves above the barriers of language and ethnicity in order to demonstrate that they were firmly united for democracy and standing solidly behind President Asif Zardari.

The participants of the ‘Stability of Pakistan and Democracy Rally’ held at the Tibet Centre were carrying banners and placards inscribed with the slogans in favour of MQM, President Zardari, democracy and against the PML-N.Altaf Hussain called upon the Sharif brothers to declare their assets and claimed that they had not learnt anything from their past mistakes. He condemned the derogatory remarks used by Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif against President Zardari. He said that MQM and all other democratic parties were united against all conspiracies being hatched against democracy. The MQM chief said that Asif Zardari faced incarceration for more than 11 years whereas the Sharif brothers begged for forgiveness from the generals within fifteen days and made off to Jeddah. He said that Shahbaz Sharif before seeking justice for others should first give justice to the daughter of the nation Dr Aafia and his daughter-in-law Ayesha Malik.

MQM Rabita Committee Deputy Convener Dr Farooq Sattar in his address termed the MQM rally a referendum and said that the people had rejected the uncivilised and un-parliamentary language used by the leaders of the PML-N.PPP leaders Pir Mazharul Haq, Agha Siraj Durrani, N D Khan, PML-Q leader Haleem Adil Sheik and others also addressed the rally of MQM.
