Karachi situation: PM directs indiscriminate action against miscreants

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has issued directives to take action indiscriminately against the miscreants in Sindh.The decision for initiating action against the miscreants was taken during the meeting between PM and governor Sindh Ishratul Ebad here Thursday.

Sources told governor Sindh apprised the PM of the prevailing situation of Sindh with particular reference to target killing and firing in Karachi. PM contacted chief minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah by telephone and directed him to evolve action plan against criminals besides convening high level meeting of Sindh administration immediately.

It was decided in the meeting that the culprits would be brought to justice and stern action would be initiated against those who would show leniency in dealing with conspirators..Sources told Media that PM said that normalcy would be brought into Karachi at every cost and stern action would be taken against the elements found involved in challenging writ of government. Protecting life and property of citizens was responsibility of the government, he stressed. Those involved in deteriorating law and order situation in Karachi would be dealt with iron hands, he warned.

PM said he was saddened over killing of innocent citizens in Karachi during the last few days.Sources told formula on rejoining federal and provincial governments by MQM was also discussed and it was also agreed that both MQM and PPP would continue talks process on national issues so that peace is maintained in Karachi at every cost. – Onlinenews
