PM directs law ministry to clear file of Nandi Pur Power Project

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday directed the Ministry of Law to clear the file regarding the 400 mega watt Nandi Pur Power Project and expedite the case.He issued the directive in his meeting with Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif who called on him along with Senator Ishaq Dar here at Prime Minister House.The Prime Minister said the government was cognizant of the issues relating to energy and education that were directly affecting the lives of people.It was decided in the meeting that two separate conferences would be convened to evolve national strategy on energy and education.

The Prime Minister directed to take steps to ensure power supply to the people especially at Sehr and Iftar timings during the holy month of Ramazan.He stressed to focus on effective power management to minimize the wastage of electricity and increase the level of benefit to common man.Gilani said the government was striving to resolve the problems faced by people due to power shortage and was taking prudent measures for their maximum comfort.He expresses the hope that the recently established committee to work on power issues, would finalize their recommendations in minimum possible time. – APP
