5 killed in Karachi violence

KARACHI: At least five people including an assassin of Talay Bugti were killed and several others injured in different incidents of target killing in the provincial metropolis on Monday.In Saddr area near passport office, unidentified armed men opened fire at two persons killing an employee of MPA Hostel identified as Abdul Jabbar and critically injuring his relative Mujeeb-ur-Rehman.The injured and body were shifted to Civil Hospital for medico legal requirements.Dr Iqbal, one of the accused in Talay Bugti murder case, was shot dead in firing by his opponents. The police have arrested other two accused of Talay Bugti’s murder identified as Zahid Butt and Wasim. It should be mentioned that more than six people were killed in exchange of fire during dance party on Sunday.Separately, a youngster identified as Kashif was shot dead by some unknown armed men in Sector 5-A of North Karachi.Some unidentified gunmen shot dead Gulabzar Khan, 28, in Gulbahar Firdous Colony.
Meanwhile, a man was killed and two others injured in an exchange of fire between two rival groups in Bilal Colony locality of Korangi.

Panic gripped the area and shops were closed while enraged mob set several carts on fire.Fire brigade and police could not enter the area in time to control fire due to firing.On the other hand, five outlaws were arrested after police raided a house near Usman Shah Mausoleum on Gaddap Road. The police also recovered illegal weaponry from the possession of the accused also stated to be involved in kidnapping for ransom incidents.Police said three of the associates of arrested criminals succeeded to flee the crime scene. Raids and search operation to apprehend the fleeing miscreants were underway.At least seven persons were injured in separate firing incidents in different localities across the city. – Nation
