LAHORE: The PML-N Cultural Wing President Farrah Deeba, on Sunday, said that the Punjab government has taken a vital step by reducing the entertainment tax from 65 percent to 20 percent and exempting the cinemas from this tax for three years, which would definitely help encourage cultural activities in the province.Farah said that the Punjab government had given a balanced and people-friendly budget for fiscal year 2011-12, despite financial crunch. The PML-N-led government by presenting a budget, ensuring incentives to all segments of society, had won over the hearts of the people, she said, the chief minister (CM) deserved great applause for prioritising the public issues and presenting a viable budget to the masses. The PML-N by giving a viable and pro-poor budget has proved its worth as the only political party of the country which has the ability to come up to the expectations of the common man, she added. – Dailytimes
