HANGU: At least 25 people were killed and over 50 injured in a powerful bomb blast near District Police Officer’s office in Hangu on Thursday. According to police, the blast occurred when District Police Officer was leaving his office but he narrowly escaped. The police and rescue teams rushed to the site, where dead bodies and injured have been shifted to District Headquarter Hospital, where an emergency was declared. Health source informed the media that the condition of several injured persons was critical.
The security force enclosed the area and launched search operation. According to eyewitnesses the intensity of the blast was so high that it damaged several buildings in the area. The wave of terrorism spread across the country in the wake of killing of Al-Qaeda chief Osama Bin Laden as militant groups announced to take revenge of killing of Al-Qaeda chief. – Onlinenews
