ISLAMABAD: Country’s top political leadership, Chief Ministers, federal/provincial ministers, educationists, businessmen and people from different walks of life on Tuesday expressed deep grief and sorrow over the sad demise of Hakim Ali Zardari, the father of President Asif Ali Zardari.Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has expressed deep grief over the death of Hakim Ali Zardari.The Prime Minister termed the passing away of late Hakim Zardari as a great loss for the country. He said the nation had been deprived of a seasoned politician who contributed positively for the country.He said Hakim Zardari was a close companion of Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and struggled throughout his life for the restoration of democracy in the country.Chairman Senate Farooq H. Naek, Acting Chairman Senate Mir Muhammad Khan Jamali in their condolence messages sympathized with the family and prayed that Allah Almighty give the family courage to bear this loss.The leader of the House in the Senate Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari also offered his sincere condolence and expressed his deep sympathies.Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said Hakim Ali Zardari devoted his whole life for the rights of the downtrodden segment of the society.She said Hakim Ali Zardari was a seasoned politician who always supported and worked for the welfare of the common man.The sacrifices rendered by late Hakim Ali Zardari would always be remembered, she said.The Minister said that all the leaders, activists and workers of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) are standing along with President Asif Ali Zardari and his whole family in this hour of tragedy.President Pakistan Muslim League Ch. Shujaat Hussain Senior Federal Minister Ch. Pervez Elahi in their separate messages have condoled with the bereaved family and prayed to Allah Almighty to bear this irreparable loss with gratitude and courage.Earlier, former Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Sherry Rehman, Former Minister of State Ayatullah Durrani, Parliamentary Secretary for Health Dr Mehreen Raza Bhutto, Secretary Health Nargis Sethi, Chairman Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal, Zamurd Khan, Managing Director Associated Press of Pakistan, Muhammad Riaz and Central Executive Committee Member of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Qazi Sultan Mahmood visited the hospital and condoled the death of Hakim Ali Zardari.
