ISLAMABAD: The government has evolved a comprehensive strategy to address the problems of Balochistan and would extend every possible support to the provincial government for accelerated development, Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani said on Monday.Talking to Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi at the Prime Minister’s House, the prime minister said substantial funds had been provided to the provincial government through the NFC Award for development of the province. The prime minister said that he would visit Balochistan in the near future to review the progress of development schemes launched in collaboration with the federal government and review the implementation status of Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan Package.
The prime minister said he had already extended invitation for dialogue to all the nationalist leaders of Balochistan for political reconciliation and restoration of peace and harmony. He observed that political dialogue was the only way forward to sort out political differences and sustainability of the democratic process in the country. Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi apprised the PM of current security situation of the province and measures for further improvement. He said the prime minister’s visit would be helpful for improvement of the overall political and security situation of the province. Separately, President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday reiterated the commitment of the government to bring the people of Balochistan into the national mainstream and to address their grievances and sense of deprivation.Talking to Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi who called on him at the Presidency, he also discussed matters regarding the deteriorating law and order situation in the province.
