Lt. Gen. Haroon Aslam appointed as Corps Commander Bahawalpur

Lt. Gen. Haroon Aslam has been appointed as the new Corps Commander for Bahawalpur.It is expected that few more promotions will take place in the Army during next three to four days. Eight Generals including ISI Chief Lt. Gen. Ahmad Shuja Pasha will also be retiring this year.Chief of Army Staff Gen. Ashfaq Pervez Kayani has appointed Lt. Gen. Haroon Aslam as the new Corps Commander Bahawalpur. Earlier, Lt. Gen. Haroon was on the post of Deputy Chairman ERA. According to sources, this year, eight Generals will get retired which include Corps Commander Bahawalpur Lt. Gen. Khalid Naeem Lodhi, Adjutant General Lt. Gen. Nadeem Taj, Chairman POF Lt. Gen. Shujaat Zamir Dar, Military Secretary Lt. Gen. Mohsin Kamal, Commander Strategic Forces Lt. Gen. Jamil Haider and Lt. Gen. Javaid Zia. It is also known that DG ISI Lt. Gen. Ahmad Shuja Pasha will be retiring on 18th March 2011; however it is expected that he might be given an extension.
