Rozgar scheme to benefit poor, says Hoti

MARDAN: Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti has said that Bacha Khan Khapal Rozgar Scheme will be free from all kind of political influence and under this scheme interest-free loans will be offered on merit to poor people of the province.He said this while inaugurating Abdul Wali Khan University Science College, Shankar, here on Saturday. The chief minister also announced Rs20 million for the under-construction building of academic block in the college. Provincial minister for education Sardar Hussain Babak, vice chancellor of the university Prof Ihsan Ali, MPA Ahmad Khan, ANP district president Abbass Khan and former Mardan Nazim Himayatullah were also present on this occasion.Mr Hoti claimed that the ANP-led provincial government had launched the rozgar scheme with the aim to control unemployment in the province and enable the poor earn their livelihood in a dignified manner.He said that initially Rs1 billion was allocated for the scheme, under which Rs25,000 to Rs100,000 interest-free loan would be offered to the poor. “The scheme fund will be distributed among all the districts on the basis of population and there will be no special fund for ministers and members of parliament,” he maintained.

The chief minister said that the provincial government was going to start a big project of vocational training for the youth. The government would send unemployed youth to different vocational institutions of the country for getting training so that they could become capable of starting their own work, he maintained.He said that work was also underway on the project under which information technology parks would be established in Peshawar and Abbottabad districts.The chief minister said that the provincial government had established the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Oil and Gas Company, which would explore natural resources across the province – Dawn
