Shipping activity remained active at the Port where three ships carrying containers and furnace oil were berthed at Qasim International Containers Terminal and FOTCO Terminal respectively on Wednesday, 26th January. Meanwhile, three more ships carrying containers, wheat and diesel oil also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim on same day. Berth occupancy was 80% on Wednesday at the Port where a total nine ships namely, NYK Kai, CGM Jamica, ACX Margurite, Kimon-A, Island Star, Rana, Trans ocean and Blue Sea were engaged at PQA berths to load/offload containers, rice, cement, sugar and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours.
A cargo volume of 51,366 tonnes comprising 41,419 tonnes imports and 9,947 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,186 containers (TEUs) was handled at the Port during last 48 hours. Container ship CGM Jamica sailed out to sea during last 24 hours while NYK Kai were expected to sail later on Thursday. Five Ships MV, Angila, Dubai Express, MV.Glory and Suchada Naree were expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal, respectively, on Thursday. – App
