Sindh Assembly building escapes terror attack?

KARACHI:Police foiled a possible terror attack attempt on the Sindh Assembly building when they arrested three suspects having close links to the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.A senior official told media that the police on a tip-off raided a house in Orangi Town No 11 and arrested Qasim Iqbal, Jalaluddin and Moosa Kazim with a huge cache of weapons.Police claimed that the detained suspects had been planning a suicide attack to blow up the Sindh Assembly building.Sources said that the arrested men had been monitoring the building for a long time and noting each and every movement of important personalities.The suspects revealed during initial interrogation that they wanted to hit the assembly building along with the members of provincial assembly.A police official claimed that a hit-list with names of more than 25 important personalities on it was recovered from the possession of the arrested men.The suspects disclosed to the investigators that they had access to different bank accounts with a credit limit of billions of rupees.“We have enough money to fulfil our requirements for carrying out our missions as we have access to different accounts in several banks having credit limits of more than Rs 5 billion,” the detainees said during the interrogation.A senior Crime Investigation Department official told media that different militant groups were operating in Karachi and it was difficult to eradicate all of them in a few days as they do not keep in touch with one another.However, the police have gathered a lot of information from the detained suspects and raids would be conducted in different parts of the city soon – PT
