The second session of the Australian Sports Commission Under-16 Girls Netball Coaching Development and Tournament Program concluded at Government Girls High School Haripur, Abbottabad on Sunday. Miss Kulsoom Shujjat, Director Sports was the chief guest. General Secretary of the Pakistan Netball Federation Mudassar Arain, Secretary
of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Netball Association Nadia Chamkani, officials of the District Abbottabad Netball Association, players, officials and spectators were also present on theoccasion.
The three-day coaching and development program along with competitive activities successfully completed with around 110 players from different educational institutions took part.
All the 110 players along with 18 teachers took part in the Netball Coaching Development and Tournament Program besides the federation also distributed the Netball poles, bibs, balls, literature and other sports equipments were also handed over to District Netball Association, Abbatabad.
Officials of the Pakistan Netball Federation comprising Khalid Parviaz, Ajaz-ul-Haq and Yasir Javed delivered their lectures about Netball rules, basic coaching, physical fitness and techniques of the Game.
A total of eight netball teams turned up for the coaching course held their matches. In the final match played between Government Girls College Abbattabad No.1 and Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mirpur which was won by the former by 16-2.
Earlier, in the first semi-final Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mirpur defeated Government High School Kakul by 6-1 while in the second semi-final Government Girls College Abbottabad No. 1 outclassed Comprehensive Girls High School by 14-2 goals.
Ms. Kulsoom Shujjat, Director Sports was the chief guest at the closing ceremony and distributed trophies. The 3rd session will be held in Sargodha from January 10. – App
