KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah Saturday hoped to table a bill seeking revival of the Commissioner System in the province in upcoming Sindh Assembly session scheduled to be held on January 7, 2011.Talking to media after a press conference by Syed Javaid Shah Jilani at Chief Minister’s House here, he said the bill on the revival of the Commissioner System was pending since long time due to reconciliation policy. “We are now willing to table it in the upcoming session of Sindh Assembly,” he said. He said that they were in contact with the provincial coalition partners including Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Awami National Party, Pakistan Muslim League-Functional, National People’s Party and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid in this regard.He said, “We have reminded MQM and others about tabling of the bill as we are willing to revive the Commissioner System that will help the Sindh government to facilitate the common people and meet the challenges of price hike, law and order and other issues.” Shah stressed on the passage of bill with complete consensus, and said that the present local government system had many flaws, which would also be addressed with the passage of the bill – Dailytimes
