Anti-corruption drive to end mence from country: Rehman Mali

ISLAMABAD : Minister for Interior Rehman Malik said on Tuesday that the anti-corruption drive launched by the government would end the menace from the country.Talking to mediapersons outside the parliament, he said “the measures taken by the government would end corruption from all the government departments”.The minister said that a committee had been constituted comprising Interior Secretary, four provincial home secretaries and representatives of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and intelligence agencies to address the complaints of citizens and review corruption cases related to other public departments.

Rehman Malik said that initially  major public dealing departments of the Interior Ministry, which are frequented by common people, have been picked.He said heads of all the departments of Interior Ministry have been categorically asked to curb corruption in their respective departments.“The government will not allow corruption in any form and there will .be zero tolerance in this regard,”  Malik said.He assured that action would be taken against those elements only, who were found involved in corrupt practices not against law-abiding officials.He requested the citizens to send only credible information regarding corruption and warned that strict action would be taken against those who would send fake information.

He added if any official was caught red-handed from any department, the head of department concerned would also be arrested, who is responsible to make the system transparent.Rehman Malik said a performa was being prepared to be filled in by those  employees who were deployed in public dealing offices.He added such performa would be sent to the Federal Investigation Authority (FIA) with the appointment / transfer letters of the officials so that they could have complete information about such persons.During timings of public dealing offices, no employee would be allowed to use mobile phone and action would be taken against violators of the instructions, he warned.He requested the public to give the details of the corruption on the his number and other offical nembers – App
