DUBAI: History was made here on Wednesday when Pakistan and South African were the first international cricket sides to have extensive practice sessions at an imposing ICC Global Cricket Academy.South African underwent around three hours training session under the watchful the eyes of their Chief Corrie Van Zyl ahead of first-ever Test match staged at Dubai Sports City International Cricket Stadium. Its best ever facilities we have seen and we enjoyed our training session here, Pakistan star batsman Muhammad Yousuf told reporters. This without any shadow of doubt is best is the place to train.
Pakistan Manager Intikhab Alam said its really splendid place to train and boys enjoyed around two and half hour session here. Practice pitches are good and surroundings are wonderful, he commented.Pakistan’s team after doing light workout underwent batting, bowling and field session. Misbah was seen training in different nets against spinners as well against pace bowlers to prepare for the Test match.Besides Misbah, former Pakistan Captain Younis Khan also trained hard in the net session with pace trio of Muhammad Sami, Umer Gul and Wahab Riaz and later had session against spinners Saeed Ajmal and Abdur Rehman.We are delighted to see South Africa and Pakistan players in action here at ICC Global Academy Ground, said Acting General Manager of the academy Ekta Hutton.Its definitely a historic occasion for us and ICC and we will see many more teams coming here and using the facilities, beaming Ms,Ekta said.Both teams will have another training session at ICC Global Academy on Thursday – App
