Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

KARACHI : The Karachi Port handled 61,814 tonnes of cargo including 44,157 tonnes of import, 17,657 tonnes of export cargo and 3,384 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Wednesday.The total import cargo of 44,157 tonnes comprised 42,157 of tonnes of dry cargo including 15,404 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,743 tonnes of b bulk cargo and 24,010 tonnes of total bulk cargo comprising 12,890 tonnes of coal; 2,555 tonnes of sugar; 8,565 tonnes of canola and 2,000 tonnes of oil or liquid cargo.The total export cargo of 17,657 tonnes comprised of 13,892 tonnes of dry cargo including 9,157 tonnes of containerised cargo; 561 tonnes of b bulk cargo and 4,174 tonnes of total bulk cargo comprising of 4,174 tonnes of cement and 3,765 tonnes of oil or liquid cargo.A total number of five vessels namely Limentic, Thana Bhum, Alliance Beaumont, Canarise Princess and Samin-1 carrying loaded containers, vehicle cargo, bulk cargo and loaded containers are sailed out to the sea during the reported business period on Wednesday. There are four vessels namely Precedence, Alliance Beaumont, Bunga Raya Sepuluh and President Adams are currently at the berths to load/offload tanker, vehicle cargo and loaded containers respectively during the reported business hours on the same day at Karachi Port.There are four vessels namely Sea Rose, M T Johar, Bunga Raya Sepuluh and Wappen Von Stuttgart carrying coal, crude oil, loaded containers and base oil are expected to sail on Wednesday. While there are four more vessels namely Han Jin Buenos Aires, Banglar Doot, YU Lan Hai and Manila Express carrying loaded containers, jute cargo, canola oil and loaded containers are expected to sail on Thursday to the open sea.A total number of two vessels namely Oriental Marguerite and Manila Express carrying ethanol and loaded containers respectively are expected to arrive on Wednesday. While there are four more vessels namely Energy Progress, Daewoo Diamond, Hansa Stavanger and Blue Oceaen carrying jet oil, chemicals, loaded containers and steel cargo (coils) respectively are expected to arrive on Thursday during the business activity hours at Karachi Port.

PORT QASIM: Port Qasim maintained port’s activities of cargo volume of 28,290 tonnes including 20,150 tonnes of import; 8,140 tonnes of export cargo and there were total 981 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) handled during the last 24 hours of business activities on Wednesday.The total import cargo volume comprised of 20,150 tonnes including 5,360 tonnes of sugar; 8,400 tonnes of palm oil and 6,390 tonnes of containerised cargo were handled during the business activities hours of the port on the same day. The total export cargo volume comprised of 8,140 tonnes including 1,480 tonnes of rice and 6,660 tonnes of containerised cargo were handled during the reported period on Wednesday at Port Qasim.There is only one vessel namely M T UASC Shuwaikh carrying loaded containers sailed out to the sea on Wednesday morning. While there is another vessel namely C V ACX Marguerite carrying loaded containers is expected to sail out to sea on the same day afternoon.

A total number of five vessels namely M T UASC Shuwaikh, M T Oriental Queen-VI, M V Captain Wael, M V Thorn Sun and M T Bunga Melati-5 are currently occupying the berths to load/offload containers, rice, sugar and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours of business activities at the port on Wednesday.There are five vessels namely C V Cape York, C V Golam-e-Mustafa, M T Al-Salam-II, C V MSC Sena and C V ACX Marguerite carrying rice, diesel oil and loaded containers respectively are currently to line up at the outer anchorage of the port. A total number of four vessels namely C V ACX Marguerite, M V Ville D Orion, C V MSC Sena and M T Al-Salam-II are scheduled to load/offload loaded containers, diesel oil and loaded containers are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Wednesday during the business activity hours at Port Qasim – Brecorder
