ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani has observed the post flood institutional arrangements for rehabilitation and reconstruction are the most important aspects as these would determine pace and quality of work for reconstruction of infrastructure destroyed by the floods.He said that great responsibility lies on parliamentarians and ministers to keep constant vigilance during the reconstruction and rehabilitation phase.The Prime Minister expressed these views in a meeting with Minister of State for Finance and Economic Affairs Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar at Prime Minister House here on Thursday afternoon.Commenting on the policy of reconciliation and consultation, the Prime Minister said that the government would welcome suggestions to ensure welfare of the flood affected people.He appreciated efforts of his economic team in reprioritizing the development agenda of the government in an efficient way.The Prime Minister directed the minister of state to make full preparations for presentation of true picture of the devastation caused by the floods in the country at the upcoming meeting of Pakistan Development Forum (PDF) in Brussels.
He appreciated that the international community has shown keenness in assisting Pakistan to face this challenge.He instructed that accurate data regarding the requirements and the plan to utilize the funds should be made available to the FDP.Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar briefed the Prime Minister about the constitution of Pakistan Development Forum.She also briefed about the homework being done by the government’s economic team for the coming meeting of PDF in Brussels.
