PESHAWAR: The city police said on Wednesday they had recovered four NATO transport containers loaded with US Army jackets and laptop computers that had been stolen while on their way to Afghanistan. Khazana Police Station House Officer (SHO) Sabir Khan told Daily Times that police recovered the container from Nishat Flour Mill in Khazana area of the city. He said that the containers were found parked at a flour mill. Four people, including a guard at the mill, have been detained, he said.Police showed the loaded containers to reporters loaded with the US Army jackets, each inscribed with individuals’ names, stationery, coils of cable and laptops, cupboard, spoons, US army uniforms, generators, tents, computers, first aid items, wireless sets, fridges and other equipments. Police sources said that the goods were probably stolen from Ring Road area, a stopover for NATO supply trucks, before being shifted to Nowshera, following attacks on container terminals last year. Police has arrested the guard of the store, identified as Jan Mohamamd; however, the owner was still at large.
