QUETTA: A driver was shot dead and three more containers carrying logistic support for NATO forces stationed in Afghanistan were set ablaze in two separate incidents in central Balochistan on Saturday.

According to sources, unknown armed men ridding on motorcycle opened fire on two containers on RCD highway in Manguchar area of Kalat district, some 145-kilometer southeast of Quetta. Resultantly, a driver identified as Nizamudin received multiple bullet wounds and died on the spot. The perpetrators set both the containers on fire and fled the scene. The Levies Forces reached the spot soon after the incident and took the dead body to nearby hospital for autopsy.

Another oil tanker carrying fuel for NATO forces was set on fire in Khuzdar district, some 300-kilometer off Quetta. The assailants escaped from the scene after destroying oil tanker. Three containers were completely destroyed. Six NATO containers had been torched during the past 24 hours. No group has claimed the responsibility. However, local law enforcement agencies are investigating the incidents.

Miscreants are frequently carrying out attacks on NATO suppliers for the past two month and so far more than 40 containers and oil tankers were attacked and destroyed – Thebalochha
