Biggest challenge faced by government: Rehabilitation of 20 million displaced people

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has said the provinces have sent names of their nominees for national disaster oversight management council and a notification will be issued in a day or two after inclusion of the federation’s nominees.

Talking to newsmen at his residence in Lahore the Prime Minister said the biggest challenge faced by government at present is the rehabilitation of 20 million displaced people. He said a transparent procedure would be adopted to distribute 3.5 billion rupees among the affectees at the rate of one hundred thousand rupees per family. The Prime Minister said rescue and relief operations have been completed in most of the flood affected areas however, there are some areas of Sindh where relief operation is underway with the help of army, Air force and Navy – PTV
