ISLAMABAD, Sep 7 (APP): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira said on Tuesday that the government was utilizing all its resources for distribution of first tranche of cash assistance as early as possible but he never said that the same would be distributed before Eid-ul-Fitr. While speaking at a consultative workshop on recovery and rehabilitation of flood victims the minister clarified “I never said that Rs 20,000 would be given to flood victims before Eid-ul-Fitr as reported by section of the press as it was practically not possible in such short span of time.”
Kaira said that it was decided by the CCI that distribution of assistance to the flood-ravaged people would be done in a transparent and an equitable manner to the satisfaction of the nation and the entire world.
