KARACHI, Aug 25 (APP)- Former Captain Moin Khan has slammed the selection committee and chairman Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for once again ignoring experienced batsman Younus Khan for next month’s 5-match one-day series against England. “I am deeply disappointed with the treatment meted out to Younus Khan by the chairman Ijaz Butt and Chief Selector Mohsin Khan,” he told APP in an interview here on Wednesday.

“Ijaz Butt has made it a matter of ego denying Pakistan an opportunity to field strong team and increase Pakistan’s chances to win,” said 38-year-old Moin, who featured in 69 Test and 245 ODIs,.
He advised Chief Selector Mohsin Khan to resign if PCB Chief don’t listen to his advises.
“PCB chief must not make Younus Khan matter a personal issue and shall make decisions in the interest of the country. When he (PCB chief) has forgiven other players, what stops him from pardoning Younus” he added.
He believed that inclusion of Younus Khan could have made Pakistan a formidable side in one dayers.
He said after a victory at the Oval, Pakistan team will be in better frame of mind for the 4th and final cricket Test starting at Lords, London from Thursday.
However, he cautioned that team should focus their batting problems because ball will be swinging and moving all five days at Lords as compared to batting friendly conditions at the Oval.
He said Pakistan batsmen must score in access of 300 to have any realistic chance of squaring the 4-match series. “Our bowling is really strong but batsmen needed consistency,” he maintained.
Commenting on Pakistan’s batsmen shivering struggle for chasing
a small total for victory, he said its a fear factor and lack of experience.
“Pakistan batsmen have turned reachable targets into gigantic tasks and suffered defeats in recent past in Sri Lanka, Australia and England because they are not capable handing things under pressure,” he said.
“While chasing small totals Pakistan batsmen kept themselves under unnecessary pressure, anxiety and double minded approach which caused the trouble,” he asserted.
He hoped that Pakistan team will go into the fourth Test with positive frame of mind which is a key factor in outcome of the series – APP
