LONDON: The London Metropolitan Police ON Wednesday released CCTV images of late MQM leader Dr.Imran Farooq six months on from his murder under mysterious circumstances, showing him in his final hours. The images show Dr Farooq at Edgware Underground station on the morning of his death as he travelled to work.

He is then seen at a supermarket in Old Street, Central London, before he got on the Northern Line from Old Street Underground station back to Edgware, north London. The final pictures show him leaving the station and walking down Station Road toward his home. Images taken from a camera on the 204 bus show him on Station Road less than 10 minutes before he was attacked.Dr Farooq, aged 50, was attacked in Green Lane, Edgware, shortly before 17:30hrs on Thursday, 16 September 2010.He was found suffering from stab wounds and head injuries.

A post-mortem gave cause of death as multiple stab wounds and blunt trauma to the head.Detectives, from the Specialist Operations Counter Terrorism Command, believe there are people who may hold vital information about the murder and continue to urge them to come forward. It can also be revealed that investigations suggest that Dr Farooq may have been watched in the run up to the attack. This may have taken the form of up to four Asian men in vehicles or on foot in the vicinity of Dr Farooq’s home at Green Lane, at different times of the day.Police are looking to identify any witnesses who may have seen individuals hanging around Green Court, Green Lane in the days or weeks before the murder.Officers, according to a media release, also revealed details of two vehicles seen in the vicinity of Green Lane and outside Dr Farooq’s home at the time of the murder. The first vehicle is described as a silver seven-seater people carrier, with green minicab stickers in the window. The driver, and only occupant, is described as an Asian man between the ages of 32 and 40.

Police also want to trace the rider of a dark coloured moped or scooter which was seen in Grove Road and Green Lane. The rider was described as A man, wearing a black jacket and black helmet with the visor up.It is believed that the scooter travelled away from the scene after the murder, driving north up Green Lane, with the people carrier directly behind it.New details of the weapons that are believed to have been used in the murder have also been released. Two kitchen knives, one branded Ausbein Messer with a five inch blade and one branded Schinken Messer with a five and a half inch blade were recovered from the scene. They are thought to have been made by the same company and from the same set.Enquiries show that the knives are mass produced and available from discount stores and online retailers. Police are looking to identify anyone with knowledge of knives of this kind being purchased, particularly in the days prior to the murder. It is believed a house brick was also used in the attack.Officers still want to trace two men and speak to them in connection with the incident. An e-fit of one of the men was issued in November 2010.The man is of  Asian ppearance, aged in his late 20s or early 30s, 5ft 4ins to 5ft 6ins tall,of slim build, with piercing eyes, a pointed, pale-skinned face, short black/dark coloured hair, and a goatee-style beard. He was wearing a dark coloured baseball-style cap.The second man is also Asian. He is aged in his 30s, of stocky build, 5ft 9ins to 5ft 11ins tall, with short black hair – APP
