President invites Japanese corporation to invest in energy, railways

TOKYO: President Asif Ali Zardari on Tuesday invited Marubeni Corporation, one of the leading corporations of Japan to invest in energy, infrastructure and upgradation of railways.Talking to President Marubeni Corporation, Teruo Asada, who called on him here, the President said, in the long term Pakistan will serve as the hub of market for China, India and Central Asia.He said that parts of China, India and Central Asia are closer to Pakistani ports than their own ports and it is therefore natural that Pakistan offers a strategic location for business with these countries.“We provide you land and special concessions and you develop your own capital power and start building”, the President said.The President invited them to build new cities in Pakistan as there is vast scope in the housing sector.President of Marubeni Corporation showed keen interest to consider investing in railways and infrastructure sectors in Pakistan.Marubeni Corporation is one of the leading trading firms of Japan with a total foreign trade of over 40 billion dollars.
