They were addressing the participants of `death to America rally`, held to condemn Nato attack on security checkposts in Mohmand Agency.
The protesters, led by JUI-F district president Maulana Syed Gohar Shah, vice president Dr Elahi Jan and general secretary Fakhar Alam Khan, blocked Peshawar-Charsadda Road and staged a sit-in at Farooq Azam Chowk. They were also chanting slogans against America and its allies.Addressing the rally, the JUI-F leaders said that America and its allied were killing innocent people in drone attacks. “Now they dare to attack Pakistani security forces,” they added.
They condemned the killing of security men in Mohmand attack. They urged the government to revise its foreign policy in accordance with the changing conditions.The JUI leaders said that the whole nation was behind the armed forces and government if they chose a right path. They also asked the government to respect the resolutions adopted by all parties` conference and joint session of parliament.Meanwhile, the Watanpal Asatza, an organisation of teachers, also staged a protest rally in Tangi area of the district against the Nato attack.
Addressing the rally, president of Watanpal Asatza Marjan Ali Mohmand, Fazal Wahab, Amjad Katozai, Suhrab Khan, Yar Mohammad Toofan and Maulana Younas said that the time was demanding of them to express solidarity with the armed forces and show the world that whole the nation was united.They condemned the Nato attack, saying teachers as well as students were ready to fight shoulder-to-shoulder with the armed forces if the enemy dared to attack the country.
They alleged that America was bent upon destroying Muslims but they vowed to frustrate all such designs of infidels.JAMAAT: The former chief of Jamaat-i-Islami, Qazi Hussain Ahmed, and central vice president Sirajul Haq called upon the secret agencies to stop interfering in national politics.They were addressing a press conference wherein Naseer Mohammad Khan, former PPP district nazim and candidate for NA-7, announced to join Jamaat-i-Islam.They called upon the people to gather under the banner of Jamaat-i-Islami to enforce Islamic Sharia in the country. – Dawn
