Govt to continue policy of reconciliation: Gilani

LAHORE,(APP)-Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani on Wednesday reiterted government’s resolve to continue policy of political reconciliation, saying that all political leadership would be taken along in all the matters of national importance. During a meeting with the Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at the Old Lahore Airport prior to his departure for Islamabad on Wednesday, he said government would take the calamity-hit people of the flood affected areas out of this quagmire with the help of political leadership in the country and support of the masses.

Both the leaders discussed current political situation as well as flood relief work being undertaken in connection with the rehabilitation of the affected people in various parts of the country.
The premier’s recent visits to the flood- ravaged areas of the country also came under discussion, while the Chief Minister briefed him about the situation in flood-hit areas in Punjab.
Different proposals regarding transparent disbursement of financial aid to the flood-victims came under discussion during the meeting.

Chairman Punjab Assembly’s Public Accounts Committee (PAC) II MPA Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani was also present during the meeting.

Later,Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani left for Islamabad.Shahbaz Sharif and Chairman Public Accounts Committee (PAC) II MPA Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani,PPP leaders and officials bade farewell to the Premier at the Lahore Airport.  – App
