ALTHOUGH India continues to be in a denial mode, Hindutva extremism is a reality, which is wreaking horror in the Sub Continent. India insists on blaming Pakistan for cultivating terrorism and extremism and exporting it to other countries, however the destruction, mayhem, hatred and devastation carried out by radical and fanatic Hindus can no longer be pushed under the carpet as it is targeting Muslims specifically and engulfing the region in its flames of odium and revulsion. The genocide carried out in Gujarat in 2002 or the planned annihilation of Muslims in Indian Occupied Kashmir is but the tip of the iceberg. Take the example of Devendra Gupta, Vishnu Prasad and Chandrashekhar Patidar.
Gupta, an RSS worker, is alleged to have bought the mobile phone and SIM card that triggered off the October 2007 blast in Ajmer Sharif, in which three were killed. Accused Sunil Joshi, who was killed weeks before the blast, is believed to have been a key planner. Till their arrest, Muslim jehadis were blamed for the attack on Khawaja Moinuddin’s Dargah and 26 Muslim men were wrongly arrested. In Hyderabad, in the Mecca Masjid bomb blasts case, four men belonging to radical Hindu groups were arrested last May for triggering a high-intensity bomb that went off in the Masjid complex in May 2007, killing 14 and injuring some 50. At that time, the Hyderabad police had said it was most likely the work of the Harkat-ul-Jehad-e-Islami (HuJI), backed by local logistical support; scores of Muslims were arrested. Interrogated and tortured to confess. In the same time frame, officers of the Indian National Investigating Agency (NIA) filed a charge sheet in a Panjim court accusing 11 people, all Hindus and members of the ultra-right-wing Sanathan Sanstha, of masterminding and executing the October 2009 Margao blasts that killed the two people ferrying the explosives to a local festival.
Now let us briefly examine a few other cases. On September 8, 2005, in Malegaon blasts, 37 Muslims were brutally butchered. Initially Muslim youth were apprehended but now Hindutva brigade has been found to be the real perpetrators. In February 18, 2007 Samjhota Express inferno in which 68 persons, mostly Pakistanis were burnt alive, initially Lashkar-e-Tayyeba and Jaish-e-Muhammad were blamed. The NIA has now found the evidence trail lead to right-wing Hindu activists. Investigators claim the triggering mechanism for the Mecca Masjid blast three months later was similar to the one used here. Police are looking for RSS pracharaks Sandeep Dange and Ramji. In the May 18, 2007 Mecca Masjid blast, which left 14 persons dead, 80 Muslims were rounded up. Now the NIA has confirmed the culprits to be Hindu extremists, namely Sandeep Dange and Ramchandra Kalsangra and Lokesh Sharma. The Thane Cinema blast of June 4, 2008 was conducted by Hindu extremists Janjagruti Samiti, Sanathan Sanstha, Ramesh Hanumant Gadkari and Mangesh Dinkar Nikam to oppose the screening of the movie Jodhaa Akbar. In the Kanpur and Nanded bomb mishap in August 2008, two members of Bajrang Dal—Rajiv Mishra and Bhupinder Singh—were killed while assembling bombs in Kanpur.
In April 2006, N. Rajkondwar and H. Panse from the same outfit died under similar circumstances in a bomb-making workshop in Nanded. On September 29, 2007, blasts in Malegaon left 7 dead for which Muslims were suspected and harassed till Anti Terrorist Squad discovered the involvement of Abhinav Bharat and Rashtriya Jagaran Manch and arrested Pragya Singh Thakur, Lieutenant Colonel Shrikant Purohit and Swami Amritanand Dev Tirth, also known as Dayanand Pandey. The Goa blasts of October 16, 2009, which left two dead, members of the Sanathan Sanstha were involved. Malgonda Patil and Yogesh Naik were riding a scooter laden with explosives, which accidentally went off. Terror trails in India dramatically changed with the Malegaon blasts investigation in September-October 2008.Led by then Maharashtra ATS chief Haimant Karkare, who was subsequently killed on the night of 26/11, the investigation pointed to Abhinav Bharat (AB), an ultra-right-wing Pune-based organization established in 2005-06, and its members or affiliates. If after presenting but some of the evidence painstakingly garnered by the Daily Mail investigating team, India continues in a state of denial, it is doing so at its own peril and also of the region – Dailymailnes
