ISLAMABAD: The 14th meeting of National Maritime Affairs Coordination Committee (NMACC) was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Defence, Lt General(retd) Syed Athar Ali here on Wednesday, which discussed matters related to maritime sector. The meeting was attended by high level Civilian and Military officials from various ministries, Naval Headquarters and other Departments. Among other issues, the meeting discussed revised National Maritime Policy, new plans for construction of Shipyards in Pakistan and a number of related issues in line with the Government of Pakistan’s vision to develop maritime sector on fast pace and on scientific grounds.Decisions requiring approval will be put up to Cabinet for consideration whereas others will be implemented by concerned Government Departments.The NMACC was constituted on May 21, 1986 for consideration of Maritime related issues requiring inter-ministerial coordination – App
