Provision of affordable, quality education top priority : PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani said on Monday that provision of affordable and quality education to the younger generation hailing from all segments of the society was the top priority of the government.He said that necessary funds were being made available for the education institutions all over the country in this regard.The Prime Minister was talking to Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Syed Sumsam Ali Bukhari who called on him at his Parliament House Chamber.The Minister presented a shield on behalf of the All Pakistan Clerks Association to the Prime Minister for the government’s initiatives being undertaken for the welfare of government servants and 50 percent increase given in the salaries of the public sector employees.Syed Sumsam Ali Bukhari also thanked the Prime Minister for providing Rs. 65 million for Okara University and said that it would prove to be another feather in the cap of the present government.He said that many students, who otherwise would not have availed the opportunity of higher education, would now have access to modern but inexpensive education – App
