The contest for the CA Pakistan Golf Title 2014 backed by Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and Bank Alfalah, took place at the beautiful par-72 Royal Palm Golf Course, and the competition was fought out over 18 holes on stroke play format Conditions at the golf course were most demanding, yet champions like Omer Salamat, Sardar Murad, Azfar Hassan and Shoaib Bokhari performed brilliantly and from the technical angle their shot making was forceful and accurate and equally classy was the show of their ability on and around the greens. And this was reflected in the good scores they managed to produce.
Omer Salamat turned out to be the best with a gross score of 70,two under par. Sardar Murad managed a score of gross 74,Azfar Hassan finished with 75 and Shoaib Bokhari carded a score of gross 76. Besides these four there were other contenders who did not win positions but played well enough to get noticed and add a fierce competitve edge to the championship. The names that fall in this category are Sameer Iftikhar (gross 77), Abbas Ali Khan(gross 78),Ayaz Saleem(gross 78) and Naser Irshad (gross 79) and Shoaeb Shams (81).
In the amateur net category, players are allowed advantage of handicap and the one who ended up in glory was Nadeem Azam who succeeded in decoding the subtle breaks on the greens and putted like a real champion. His score of net 64 reflects a remarkable effort. Others who ended up happy with their performances in the net section of handicap category 0-12 are Raza Said(1st net),Omer Ehsan(2nd net) and Shahid Abbas(3rd net),

At the conclusion of the tournament, Justice Umer Atta Bandial , Chief Justice Lahore High Court and Justice Yawar Ali awarded awarded prizes to the top performers in a grand prize distribution ceremony attended by senior Chartered Accountants like Haji Yousaf, Iftikhar Taj Mian, and Sadiq Naeem, participating golfers and their families. On this occasion, Naeem Akhter Sheikh, President, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan commited that they will continue to support golf and already this CA Pakistan Golf Event is conducted all over the country.
