City District Government has provided cricket ground to Saeed Ajmal International Cricket Academy in Shahbaz Sharif Sports Stadium, Firdous Colony Jhang Road to impart training to the young cricketers.

DCO Noorul Amin Mengal and cricket star Saeed Ajmal jointly inaugurated this facility here on Sunday. They also inked a Memorandum of Understandings (MoU) to collaborate for the promotion of cricket.
According to MoU, the DCO will act as patron-in-chief of 7-member committee to manage the affairs of this academy while Saeed Ajmal will be honorary Director of this facility. On the occasion, DCO Noorul Amin Mengal told that synthetic athletic track was being laid down in Shahbaz Sharif Sports Stadium to provide international facilities to the local youth. Similarly, a proposal was also under active consideration to construct youth hostel and gymnasium to facilitate the players belonging to other cities, he added.

Saeed Ajmal said that initially four cricket pitches would be prepared in this cricket ground while its number could also be increased in the later phase. He further said that clay from Nandipur was brought to prepare these pitches to maintain international standards. He said that talent-hunt program was also being arranged to pick the competent cricketers and groom them in according to international standard. He also thanked the DCO for providing this facility for the promotion of cricket in this city. Later, a friendly match was also played between Rana Sanaullah Eleven and Saeed Ajmal Eleven.-APP
