LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Ijaz Butt’s hopes regarding extension in his tenure are in dark as President Asif Ali Zardari, also Patron of the PCB, had denied meeting him in London.A reliable source said that all his close friends also seem to have refused to help him in getting extension as PCB chief. It is, therefore, expected that Ijaz Butt is likely to quit PCB next month at the end of his tenure.
The source said that Ijaz Butt wrote a letter to Aiwan-e-Sadar in which he had thanked President Asif Zardari for reposing confidence in him (Ijaz Butt) during his tenure and for extension for a few months. The source further said that the tenure of the Ijaz Butt would be come to an end on October 8 and despite his consecutive efforts in getting extension, it is unlikely he would get any positive response in this regard from the high-ups.So keeping all this in mind, Butt has now seriously started thinking about saying good-bye to the PCB. – Nation
