Chief Justice of Pakistan on Wednesday appointed Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan as the monitoring judge for overseeing the implementation of the apex court’s July 28 judgment in the Panama Papers case.

The SC notification stated that in pursuance of the judgment dated July 28 regarding the Panama Papers case, the chief justice nominated Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan as monitoring judge to supervise and monitor implementation of the judgment in letter and spirit and oversee the proceedings conducted by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Accountability Court over the matters.

The notification further stated that as Justice Ijaz ul Ahsan is currently abroad, therefore, till his return, the chief justice ordered Justice Ejaz Afzal Khan to act on his behalf.
