Children death in Thar: SC begins hearing of suo moto case today

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court will today (Monday) resume hearing of various important cases, including suo moto notices against the killing of minors in Tharparkar district of Sindh and the recent gun and suicide attack on the Islamabad district courts.

A three-member bench, comprising Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Shiekh Azmat Saeed, will hear the cases of local bodies elections, delimitations and contempt of court against Defence Secretary Asif Yaseen Malik.

The court has sought a report from chief secretary Sindh on the killing of minors due to malnutrition. The IGP Islamabad would also submit a report to the apex court on the progress in the Islamabad courts attack.Chief Justice Jillani has constituted six benches for the hearing of important cases during the commencing judicial week.

The Bench one comprises Chief Justice Tassaduq Hussain Jillani, Justice Khilji Arif Hussain and Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed. The Bench two comprises Justice Nasirul Mulk, Justice Ameer Hani Muslim and Justice Athar Saeed.The Bench three consists of Justice Jawwad S Khawaja, Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Iqbal Hameedur Rehman. The bench will hear the 35 missing persons of Malakand case on Monday.

The Bench four comprises Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and Aijaz Ahmed Chaudhry. The bench will hear the EOBI mega scandal case. The Bench five comprises Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and Justice Aijaz Afzal Khan.

The Bench six comprises Justice Asif Saeed Khan Khosa, Justice Sarmad Jalal Osmani and Justice Dost Muhammad Khan. The bench will hear a case about the miserable condition of prisoners in different jails. Source:The News
